How is a Chargeback case closed?

After the merchant submits the relevant documents, our team prepares a case on behalf of the merchant and submits it to the Acquiring bank. The bank reviews this. It usually takes 60-90 days from the submission date to get the outcome for a chargeback if the customer does not raise another dispute.

Please note that the bank may request additional documents after the initial document submission. Failure to provide these will result in the case being closed in the customer’s favour.

If the case is closed in the customer's favour, the bank debits the amount from the merchant's future settlements. Merchants can raise a 2nd level dispute if they disagree. If not pursued, the debit adjustment is applied in the subsequent settlement. If closed in the merchant's favour, no recovery or adjustment is made, but the customer can still raise a second-level dispute.
